Microscopic Dentistry

The surgical operating microscope has been used in surgery for a while.  Neuro and opthalmic surgeons were among the first to embrace the technology and perfect it for the benefit of mankind. The use of the surgical operating microscope is not new in dentistry.  I have used it for the enhanced service to my patients for over a decade.

The benefits to our patients are numerous.  The optical quality of the visual image via the microscope is beyond every day vision.  Super enhanced vision leads to better diagnosis and better treatment choices. It is as simple as that.Defects and problems which can elude the eye are more easily picked up with the microscope.  Procedures not amenable to direct vision are performed way better with microscopic enhanced vision and illumination.

The deft use of the microscope is an act in itself.  The operator cannot see his or her hands – and now conceive using a mirror for indirect visualization of the upper teeth along with a microscope. This is not your average dentist’s cup of tea.  In our practice the microscope is used on a daily basis for business as usual.

The technology of our choice is by Carl Zeiss (Germany).  This microscope offers parallel light beams like the sun’s rays as opposed to converging light beams in other microscopes. The object of it all is better care for the patients.  It is our endeavor to produce good and lasting work which benefits the health and well-being of our patients.
